Marie St Cyr, Board Chair of Lambi Fund of Haiti and human rights activist, delivered an emotional speech during the March 31 Rele Fanm ak Fi press conference. After all, she lost 6 family members during the January 12 Earthquake which devastated her native Haiti.
"We cannot afford business as usual," she told a packed room at the Church Center across from the United Nations where international donors were meeting. Marie St Cyr went on to insist that "a country cannot be run by projects. A country needs sustainable services from the State." "This must be a paradigm shift for Haiti," she added.
