About Us

The PotoFanm+Fi Rebuilding Haiti global solidarity initiative has been launched by Haitian, Diaspora and global advocates of women’s rights to support the needs, voices, and leadership of Haitian women and girls, and grassroots organizations in Rebuilding Haiti after the devastating January 12, 2010 earthquake.

PotoFanm+Fi welcomes participants who are committed to these founding principles: gender equality, democracy, transparency, accountability, community empowerment, and partnership.

What We Do: PotoFanm+Fi brings together global advocates to work as allies in partnership with the Haitian women's movement and progressive grassroots organizations to accelerate delivery of critical services, resources, funding, and programs for Haitian women and girls and grassroots communities. This initiative advocates for the implementation of a women- and community-oriented approach to relief and reconstruction for Haiti.

Planned Activities: PotoFanm+Fi members helped to develop a preliminary Gender Shadow Report on Haiti’s emerging Post-Disaster Needs Assessment blueprint for reconstruction, and plan a range of activities including: advocacy, reporting, monitoring, fundraising, and networking with community and multisector partners to accelerate delivery of priority services to Haitian women and girls.
